This is another recent one for D-Structures upcoming Joshua Mays show. Dude is one of my favorite artists I cant wait to rock a wall while w/ him while hes here and peep his show.

So Rich came up w/ these recipe cards as a great little idea to help people in their artistic processes. He asked me to shoot them for him for the Indicate Design Groupe site. I’m not sure if Rich will use these exact photos  or not but the cards are super fresh and people need to know about them. Here are his own words on what they are about.

(Novelty Generator Cards)
The purpose of these cards is to set the mind free of convention. The brain, over time, creates pathways. Sometimes , however we want new path ways to inspire new thoughts or processes. The presence of novelty and newness , allows dopamine to flow in the brain. The novelty cooks up fresh, new pathways, a recipe for creativity. – Rich Hansen, Indicate Design Groupe

Here is a flyer design I just finished and sent off today for La Pena & Weyland of Hard Knock Radio’s upcoming event. It was a fun quick project. I literally only had just over a day to put it together, but I was pretty happy with the outcome. I wanted it to look like a faded print. Trust Your Struggle will be showing digital slides of the murals our collective has painted in South America. I’m excited to be apart of this and check it out.

The guys at Game Rebellion are big fans of Trust Your Struggle Collectives artworks ( Netic the lead singer has the TYS logo that I designed tattooed on his arm) and rightfully so we are fans of their banging ass music. It being a family affair they asked TYS to do the artwork for their new album “Sounds like Riot”. Each one of us would get a panel in the CD insert. I am not sure if everybody submitted, but this one was mine. The idea behind is I wanted all of these riot scenes blasting out of a megaphone, which in this collage just happens to be held by Zac Dela Rocca formely of Rage Against The Machine. The citys are the locations of some of the biggest most historic Riots. I had fun on this, I hope they like the artwork.

Whomever is making these is a funny guy!

These are my two pieces, the first one was just a frame I found that was originally some nasty fake brass thing so I painted it flat black. I sketched out the letters on the wall and went to work, finished it by hanging the frame around it. It was fun have sometime to do hand lettering, I still had to rush a little cause we were on the clock for getting the install done….but fun none the less.

This is a horrible shot of the piece, but its the only one decent one I have. The piece sold (Score!) and the buyer picked it up before I could get a decent shot of it. The piece is 6ft x 4ft , I textured and primed the canvas a greyish flat black then painted the hand in a gloss black exterior oil. I wanted to have nice high contrast monochromatic piece for the show, that would keep with the all black theme. I really was happy with the outcome of it and the buyer commissioned me to paint 2 more!

These things happen way to often in the design world HAHA, but seriously it can be a bit much.
